Turbocharged, highly-efficient 2018 Honda Accord launching this fall
Redesigned, reengineered 2018 Honda Accord coming soon to San Francisco CA
Introducing the all-new 2018 Honda Accord, the 10th generation of the number one cumulatively choice of individual American car buyers since 2010.^
A new-from-the-ground-up design featuring a more aggressive and athletic stance help make for the most fun-to-drive, premium and dramatically styled Accord ever.
Three powerful and fuel-efficient powertrains are the highlighted features of the 2018 Accord, including two new direct-injected and turbocharged engines that pair with either a new Honda-developed 10-speed automatic transmission, continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) or a 6-speed manual transmission, in addition to the next-generation of Honda's innovative two-motor hybrid technology.
"With these three advanced new powertrains, the tenth-generation Accord will be the most fun-to-drive, refined and fuel-efficient Accord yet," said Jeff Conrad, senior V.P. and G.M. of America Honda Motor Co., Inc. "Just as the new Honda Civic injected new energy into the compact car segment, we expect this all-new 2018 Accord will make people rethink the midsize sedan."
Digging deeper into these new powertrains, there’s a 1.5-liter direct-injected DOHC Turbo with dual variable cam timing (dual VTC) coupled with a Honda CVT, while there’s also a 2.0-liter direct-injected DOHC Turbo with i-VTEC valvetrain mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission -- the industry's first 10AT for a front-wheel-drive passenger car. Both engines can also be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission instead.
As for the third powertrain, an all-new, refined version of the Accord Hybrid will be powered by the next-generation of Honda's innovative two-motor hybrid technology, allowing one motor to accelerate from a dead stop and a second to start the engine and charge the first motor.
